        • Implementing GC-HRAM MS for More Efficient and Effective Routine Pesticide Residues Analysis

Implementing GC-HRAM MS for More Efficient and Effective Routine Pesticide Residues Analysis

The development of high resolution accurate mass (HRAM) technology coupled to gas chromatography (GC) raised the bar to a higher level of performance and flexibility in full scan acquisition mode. The recent introduction of the new Exactive GC Orbitrap GC-MS system, designed specifically for routine pesticide analysis, permits the simultaneous quantitative analysis of targeted residues while screening for pesticides not expected to be present in the samples: all in a single analysis and without compromising performance.

In this webinar, Hans Mol will discuss the results of experiments designed to test the suitability and capabilities of this latest system, including:

        • Precision, accuracy, and identification capabilities in targeted workflows
        • Detection capabilities of unexpected pesticides in non-targeted workflows
        • The ease of use and effectiveness of the software

        Senior Scientist
        RIKILT-Wageningen University & Research

Dr. Hans Mol is senior scientist at RIKILT-Wageningen University & Research (Wageningen, the Netherlands) with more than 20 years of experience in food safety analysis. He is responsible for analytical method development, validation, and quality control, as well as analytical services in the field of residues and contaminants. His main emphasis is on pesticides, mycotoxins, and plant toxins in food, feed, and related matrices. His key techniques are chromatography with various types of mass spectrometric detection, and rapid MS-based screening methods. He heads the National Reference Laboratory for Mycotoxins and the National Reference Laboratory for Pesticides in products of animal origin. He is active in many national and international research projects, amongst others in the framework of EU (FP7), EFSA, and CEN projects as work package leader, coordinator, and project leader. He is an active member in EU working groups on analytical quality control in the fields of pesticides and mycotoxins and is involved in technical training and consultancy within these domains.
