Practical Considerations in the Design of Quantitative Targeted Methods in Proteomics

In this webinar, best practices and techniques for the implementation of targeted mass spectrometry for quantitative proteomics will be presented.

Quantitative proteomics by mass spectrometry is often performed in a targeted manner. Triple quadrupole mass spectrometers facilitate targeted proteomics due to their high sensitivity for tandem mass spectrometry.

        What will you learn?

        • Key characteristics of quantitative mass spectrometry proteomic assays
        • Selection of peptides that are stable, precise, and provide linear response in the sample matrix
        • Use of system suitability and quality control guidelines for quantitative mass spectrometry methods
        • Implementation of Skyline to streamline proteomic method development

        About the presenter

Sandra E. Spencer, Senior Fellow, University of Washington

Sandra E. Spencer, Senior Fellow, University of Washington

Sandra is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the MacCoss lab at the University of Washington working on method development for targeted proteomics and improvement of nanoLC robustness. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill working in the Glish lab on real-time analysis of compounds in organic aerosol particles.
