Automate MagMax workflows with KingFisher systems

Use this kit with KingFisher automation to extract high-quality DNA that is compatible with sequencing or array platforms, from a range of sample types. Choose from multiple protocols, but only two options for either large or small volume inputs, without normalization.

Workflow

Extract genomic DNA from a range of sample types with the MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 Kit

Extract gDNA from 50 µL–2 mL of fresh and stabilized saliva, whole blood, buccal swabs, EDTA/Streck cfDNA tube buffy coat, and other biological sample types. Maximize gDNA yields with the MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 Kit by treating samples with proteinase K (PK) and PK-enhancer followed by an effective lysis/binding solution to simultaneously lyse cells, denature proteins, and capture gDNA on the magnetic binding beads. Remove proteins, detergents, and other impurities from the bound nucleic acid with the Ultra 2.0 Wash I solution. This releases the gDNA from the beads using a low-TE elution solution.

Magnetic bead-based gDNA extraction with MagMAX

The MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 Kit uses magnetic bead-based workflows and combines multiple sample processing steps together to reduce the effort traditionally required by other methods of nucleic acid extraction. Simplify your sample preparation by processing a wide range of sample volume inputs simultaneously without sample normalization or reagent volume adjustments. Simply match your sample volumes to one of three standard input workflows (50 µL to 400 µL, up to 1 mL, up to 2 mL) and follow the instructions for either semi-automated sample or manual or preparation.

Designed to integrate with KingFisher Purification System

Optimize your use of the MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 Kit by using them with KingFisher systems. For moderate-throughput use with the KingFisher Duo Prime and for higher-throughput use the KingFisher Flex. Process up to 400 µL of sample volume in SBS 96-well deep-well microtiter plates using the KingFisher Flex system. For smaller sample batches, process 12 samples using the Duo Prime system. 1 to 2 mL sample input volumes are purified in SBS 24-well deep-well microtiter plates useable on either KingFisher Flex or Duo Prime systems. BindIt software scripts for automation on both Flex and Duo Prime systems can be downloaded and installed easily (see Protocols tab/section).

MagMAX reagents for larger high-throughput sample processing

MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 Kit reagents are available as stand-alone bottled reagents and are perfect for larger high-throughput sample processing. The reagents are individually bottled in larger volumes. If purchasing a set of 6 stand-alone reagents, users will have sufficient volume of MagMAX DNA Multi-Sample Ultra 2.0 reagents to process two thousand 50-200 uL samples or one thousand 200–400 uL samples.
